Gregory Ballard "Greg"

Gregory Ballard Sr., affectionately known as "Greg" or "GB", gained his wings on October 9, 2025 at the age of 63. Born in Gary, Indiana to Booker T. and Eva Mae Ballard, he was a beloved father, brother, son, and friend whose laughter and love left a lasting impression on everyone he met.
Greg was a proud graduate of Horace Mann High School Class of 81, where he built lifelong friendships and unforgettable memories. He took great pride in being an alumnus — always representing his school with love and loyalty. No matter how many years passed, he never missed a chance to talk about his time there, the people he met, or the lessons he learned. It was more than just a school to him — it was family, community, and a chapter of life he carried close to his heart.
Greg was preceded in death by his loving parents Booker T. Ballard and Eva Mae Ballard; son, Gregory "Doody" Ballard Jr., siblings; Tracy Ballard and Beverly Ann Ballard. He leaves to cherish his memory: three devoted daughters; Tymara Ballard, Megan Ballard and Angelique Soward, two sons; Don "Dontay" Taylor and Tysean Wilson, siblings; Virginia Dillard, Brenda Ballard Ferguson, Sandra Britton, Barbara Allen, Anthony Ballard (Vergia) and Yvonne Ballard; Grandchildren, Jazlyn Powell, Dezha Prince, India Ballard, Rashaad Prince, Demani Taylor, Donae Taylor, Don Taylor III, Christian Taylor, D'Kari Taylor, aunts; Bessie Ballard and Everlene Holloway, uncle; Otis Hines and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, classmates, and friends who will forever carry his spirit in their hearts.
