Gregory Clark Bloomfield passed away at the age of 70 on September 14, 2025. Born in Cheyenne, WY on October 3, 1954, to Lois and CN Bloomfield, Jr., he graduated from Cheyenne Central High School in 1973. Greg then spent a few years in the Midwest attending small liberal arts schools before realizing life in rural Ohio and Iowa was not for him. He lived and worked in Key West, FL and San Diego, CA for some years before settling back into life in the Rocky Mountains. In his late 20's, Greg completed a bachelor's degree at Metropolitan State University (Denver) while working full-time.

A short stint in law school convinced Greg that a litigious career was not the one for him. He moved on to several jobs in the banking industry before setting out in 1995 as a small business owner, creating PawsPlus Pet Sitting and Home Care in Denver. He frequently remarked, "What a great job: my clients are always happy to see me!" Several bouts of serious depression slowed him up after 2005, as did the separation from his long-time partner. In 2015 he moved to Bryan, TX, to be closer to his sister Sue, where he lived till his passing. A lifelong Episcopalian, he found community there with the congregation at St. Thomas Episcopal Church in College Station.

Greg was an irrepressible spirit, with the memory of an elephant and a treasure trove of trivia knowledge. Every conversation provided an extensive update of the most current news as well as incredibly detailed memories from 50+ years ago. He was a devoted son to our mother, Lois Johnson Bloomfield. In the 15 years before she died in 2004, Greg took her on trips to London, Alaska, Hawaii, and finally France, where Sue and her family were living for a half year in 2002. We will so miss his smile and guffaw-style laugh.

He is survived by his sister, Sue Bloomfield and husband Scott Borden (Ft Collins CO), our sister-cousin Karin Ebertz and husband Dave (Gillette WY), eight Johnson cousins, and multiple nieces/nephews. A memorial service is planned for November 15, 2025, 10:30 AM, at Foothills Unitarian Church (1815 Yorktown Ave) in Fort Collins, CO. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the Human Rights Campaign or the American Humane Society.
