Halli Dawn Palaske (née Rogus)
1955 - 2025

Halli Dawn Palaske, 69, of Palos Park, Illinois, passed away peacefully on October 20, 2025 — just three days before her 70th birthday.

A woman of great passion, faith, and creativity, Halli met decades of serious health challenges with extraordinary courage and grace. She is now at peace in God's kingdom.

Halli was a gifted artisan whose many talents and interests reflected her boundless curiosity and imagination. She found joy in gardening, cooking, photography (earning a degree from Columbia College), music, fashion, reading, and movies. A talented seamstress and crafter, she delighted many with her handmade "Sweet P of Palos Park" dolls, sold at art fairs throughout the region.

Alongside her devoted husband, Doug, Halli shared a deep love for animals. Together they rescued and cared for countless dogs, cats, birds, and even a beloved horse named Lyric. Her dogs were treated to daily walks through the forest preserves and her famously hearty "doggie surprise" stew.

Halli's greatest joy was her family, especially her daughter, Chelsea, son-in-law Stephen Orozco, and their three sons — Mark, Jacob, and Abraham. The family's Texas wedding in 2022 was one of the happiest moments of her life, followed by the births of her grandsons Jacob in 2023 and Abraham in 2024. The tragic loss of Jacob in 2024 touched her deeply, a sorrow she carried with immense strength and faith.

Halli was preceded in death by her infant daughter Brianna and her grandson Jacob. She is survived, immediate family, by her loving husband Doug Palaske, her daughter Chelsea, son-in-law Stephen, and grandsons Mark and Abraham, who will carry forward her spirit of creativity, compassion, and love.

Halli's family and friends will remember her warmth, artistry, and the beauty she brought into every life she touched.

A private family celebration of Halli's life will be held in Texas. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to an animal rescue organization of your choice.
