Mr. Harold Edgar "Harry" Vaughan III, age 55, passed away on October 13, 2025. Born on February 9, 1970, in Medford, Massachusetts, Harry lived a life marked by unwavering devotion to his family and an indomitable spirit that touched all who knew him.
Harry was a proud graduate of Don Bosco Technical High School in Boston, Massachusetts. From a young age, he developed a deep love for sports—especially hockey—which he played with passion throughout his life. His competitive nature and team spirit on the ice mirrored the way he approached life: with energy, determination, and heart.
A man of many talents and interests, Harry found joy in the simple pleasures of life. He had a knack for cooking and took pride in keeping things clean and orderly—traits that reflected his caring nature and attention to detail. He also enjoyed watching crime television shows, often immersing himself in the twists and turns of each story with curiosity and enthusiasm.
Above all else, Harry was a devoted family man whose love knew no bounds. He was a loving father to his three children: Ava Vaughan and Bryce Vaughan of Wakefield, and Harold E. "Harry" Vaughan IV of Somerville. His children were the center of his world.
Harry shared close bonds with his siblings as well. He was a cherished brother to Eric Vaughan and his wife Marisa of Saugus, and Maureen Schober and her husband Rick of Arlington. As an uncle, Harry held a special place in the hearts of Adriana and her fiancé Conor Monks and Carina Vaughan; Saffron Donovan; and Ameriah, Noelani, and Keziah Schober. His warmth and humor made him a beloved presence at family gatherings.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife Charlene (Paolillo) Vaughan; his father Harold "Harry" Vaughan Jr.; and his mother Kathleen "Kathy" Vaughan. Though their absence was deeply felt throughout his life, Harry carried their memory forward with strength and grace.
Those who knew Harry will remember him as loving, caring, warm-hearted—and always putting family first. He never sat still for long; whether helping others, dancing at family parties or tackling daily tasks with tireless energy, he embodied resilience and generosity in everything he did.
A Celebration of Life and Interment at Holy Cross Cemetary in Malden, Ma will be held at a later date.
