Henrietta Lucille Hunsicker was born to Lucille Henrietta Hunsicker (maiden name Gernard) and Horace Henry Hunsicker on February 24, 1948 in Allentown, Pennsylvania. Tragically, Lucille died at the young age of forty years old. After some time, Horace remarried Florence. She became the beloved step-mother to Henrietta and her two sisters, then eventually a beloved grandmother, 'Nanny' to seven grandchildren. Henrietta loved and was much loved by her two sisters, Davidene Hagenbuch and Lucille Parker.
Henrietta (a.k.a. Bobby) was a kind, loving, incredibly positive person. She always looked for the good in people. She was cherished by her community, children, family, and friends. An avid volunteer at Faith Evangelical Church. She taught second-grade Sunday School for over ten years. Henrietta was one of the first female computer programmers at G.A.C. in Allentown, PA. She was a beloved mother and wife. She was married to Robert Knauss for thirty years.
Henrietta was one of the first female computer programmers at G.A.C., General Acceptance Corporation, Allentown, PA. She was dedicated to her career and very successful, and she rose through the ranks, but eventually gave it up to focus on raising her children. Her son is a successful entrepreneur, and her daughter is a Wall Street financier and author.
As a faithful member of Faith Church Evangelical in Allentown, PA, Henrietta volunteered in many capacities. She was a second-grade Sunday school teacher for over ten years (approximately). She volunteered in the nursery and in the kitchen to help with meals. She volunteered for the trips to the Crisis Pregnancy Center and in many other capacities.
On August 17, 2018, Henrietta suddenly and tragically passed away from heart complications. She is survived by her two children, Elizabeth Gschwender Knauss and Ryan Knauss. Elizabeth married Sebastian Gschwender, and they have two children, Alexander and Anna. Ryan married Kylee Knauss, and they have two children, Ryder and Logan.
Henrietta loved life! She was an active person. She enjoyed crafting, sewing, painting, gardening, and cooking. She could fix anything! She was helpful and skillful with her children and the menagerie of pets in their household.
Henrietta's memorial service was held in Scottsdale, AZ, but she will live forever in the hearts of those who had the opportunity and pleasure to know and love her.
