Henry Frank Teri, 92, passed away on October 14, 2025, in Lee's Summit, MO. Born on March 3, 1933, in Kansas City, MO, Henry was known for his friendly, creative, and loving nature, particularly towards his friends and family. He enjoyed hosting family gatherings and was fond of giving tours around Kansas City, especially in the neighborhood where he grew up.
Henry is survived by his wife, Beverly Teri; daughters, Renee Harryman and Michele Rambaud; son, Nathan Snedden; sister, Pauline Hart; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank Teri and Josephine Mangiaracina, and his sisters, Frances Tornabene and Carmaline Swift.
Educated locally, Henry attended Karnes Elementary School and graduated from Northeast High School in 1951. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Finlay Engineering College in 1957. His academic foundation paved the way for a distinguished career.
Henry briefly served in the Army Artillery from 1953 to 1954, a commitment that interrupted his early professional endeavors but instilled in him a disciplined approach to his later achievements. Following his military service, he worked at Teri Grocery Store before starting his career as a Mechanical Engineer at McDonnell Aircraft Corp. in 1957. He then joined Burns & McDonnell Engineering Company, where he worked from 1958 until his retirement in 1995. Throughout his career, he managed numerous design projects across the U.S., Puerto Rico, and Spain, and was an active member of The American Society of Mechanical Engineers.
A devout Christian, Henry was involved with several churches throughout his life, including Christ Presbyterian Church, Colonial Presbyterian Church, New Summit Presbyterian Church, Woods Chapel Methodist Church, and Village Church in John Knox Village. He sang in choirs at the first 4 churches. He also performed a solo at Montreat in Ashville, North Carolina.
Henry's hobbies were as vibrant and varied as his professional life. He was an accomplished painter, displaying his works at various venues across Kansas City. An avid sports fan, he enjoyed watching golf, the Royals, and the Chiefs. He also had a passion for reading, playing bridge and poker, and bird watching. Alongside his wife, Beverly, he traveled extensively, visiting over 30 countries and nearly all the U.S. states.
A service to celebrate Henry's life will be held on November 8, 2025, at 2 pm, with visitation beginning at 1 pm at the Village Church, John Knox Village, Courtyard Complex, 518 NW Murray Road, Lee's Summit, MO 64081. A cookie reception will follow the service.
