Herbert ("Herb," "Herbie," "Herb Score") Carl Banzhaf, 54, of Fairview Park, Ohio, passed away on October 23, 2025, in Cleveland.

Born on July 28, 1971, to Christel and the late Gerhard "Gary" Banzhaf, Herb grew up in North Olmsted, OH and graduated from North Olmsted High School, Cleveland State University (BBA) and Ashland University (MBA). He built a successful professional career in consumer products and sales, serving as the Director of Sales at MTD Products and later the National VP of Sales at Slime Products (Illinois Tool Works). During the last few years of his life, Herb took on the role of primary caregiver for his mother Christel, a gift for which his family will be eternally grateful.

In his final years, Herb battled challenges that were too overwhelming for him to overcome. Yet his family and friends have so many fond memories of him. Herb was funny, outgoing, and had an infectious laugh, would strike up a conversation with literally anyone, and always enjoyed bringing family and friends together. He enjoyed playing tennis and was an avid golfer, so much so that he even went into quicksand looking for a stray shot when he was golfing in Florida!

Herb had a generous spirit and a great sense of humor, especially when joking around with his older brothers, Marty and Edgar. He was passionate about Cleveland sports, the Buckeyes, mountain biking, and of course his Pugs. Importantly, his greatest loves were his daughters Kyla and Hope, whom he cherished above all.

Herb is survived by his daughters, Kyla and Hope, and their mom, Cynthia Sekanina; his older brothers, Edgar (Kelley Barnett) and Martin (Gloria); his mother Christel Melchien Banzhaf; his cherished nephew Lukas; his niece Gabi (Jon) and their son Elliot; his close friend Ratha Sin; and many more family and friends who miss him deeply. We take comfort knowing that Herb is finally at peace.

The family will hold a celebration of life at Emerald Necklace Marina in Lakewood on Friday, October 31. Doors will open at 1:00 p.m. and the service will begin at 1:30. Those who wish to pay their respects or share memories are welcome to reach out to Herb's family for more details.
