Jack Bishop Blount, 73, passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 20, 2025 at his home in Columbia, Missouri, after a two-year struggle with kidney disease and small strokes.

Jack was born November 7, 1951 in Washington, Missouri to parents Charles Richard (“Dick”) Blount and Emma Sue Bishop Blount. He graduated from Southern Missouri University. Jack married Cynthia “Cindy” Marlene Brems on August 18, 1973.

Jack is survived by his wife, Cindy Blount; his daughter, Kelley Krohnert, and her husband, Paul, of Smyrna, Georgia; his son, Jackson Thor Blount, and his wife Alicia, of Carrollton, Georgia; four grandchildren, Andrea Krohnert, Charles Blount, Witt Blount, and Thor (“T.O.”) Blount; brother, Mark Blount, and his wife Janice, of Columbia; sister, Susan Gemming, and her husband Craig, of Columbia; sister-in-law Robin Blount of Columbia; and fifteen nieces and nephews.

Jack was preceded in death by his daughter, Connie Michelle Blount; grandson, Callaway Maddox Blount; parents, Charles Richard Blount and Emma Sue Blount; brother, Charles Richard Blount II; and nephew, Nathan Blount.

Jack worked tirelessly in the computer industry for decades, including executive roles at Novell, MobileWare, Raindance, Dynix, AlphaBay, and others. Jack and family moved often, but spent many years in Park City, Utah, and the Dallas metroplex. In his personal time, Jack enjoyed snow skiing, boating, riding horses, playing golf, and spending time with his children and grandchildren.

A graveside service and interment of ashes is planned at the Park City Cemetery in Park City, Utah, in Spring 2026.

Memorial donations in Jack’s memory may be directed to the American Heart Association.
