James B. Leet, Jr.

James B. Leet, Jr., 70, of Wheeling, IL, passed away peacefully on November 2, 2025, surrounded by his family and friends. Born on January 25, 1955, in Chicago, IL, Jim lived most of his life in Glenview, IL. He loved to spend his summers "up at the cabin" in Grand Marais, MN. A lifelong Chicago sports fan, Jim rarely missed a Cubs, Bears, or Bulls game. One of his happiest memories was seeing the Cubs finally win the World Series in 2016, and he was thrilled to witness another exciting playoff run this season, cheering them on every step of the way. He is survived by his beloved children, Kristen, Alex (Emma), and CJ (Karolina); their mother, Dee Ann; his sister, Christine (John) Dover; his cherished grandchildren, Poppy and Griffin; and many close friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, James B. Leet, Sr. and Laurayne W. Leet. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, December 6, 2025, at Our Lady of Perpetual Help in Glenview, IL. Visitation will begin at 9:15 a.m., followed by a memorial Mass at 10:00 a.m. Jim's greatest joy in life was being a father and grandfather. He will be dearly missed and forever remembered for his love of family, his quick wit, his laughter, and his unwavering devotion to the teams and people he loved most.
