Janice Lillian (Winton) Hartman, 82, of Colorado Springs, CO, went home to be with Jesus on September 14, 2025.

Janice was born November 17, 1942, in Visalia, California, and grew up on her family’s ranch in Ivanhoe. Life on the ranch shaped her hardworking spirit, her love of family, and her appreciation for simple joys. After graduating from Redwood High School, she moved to San Jose, where she met a tall, kindhearted man named Kenneth Hartman. They married on September 5, 1964, and built a life together filled with laughter, music, and devotion until his passing in 2011.

Janice poured her heart into raising her two sons, Scott and Keith, and later delighted in being “Grandma” to Devin, Andrew, Jake, and Brayden. She had a gift for making people feel at home—whether it was through a warm meal at her table, a bed offered to someone who needed a place to stay, or simply the comfort of her listening ear.

Family adventures were some of her happiest times. Summers were often spent boating and skiing on the California Delta, where fun on the water turned into memories that lasted a lifetime. The family also treasured camping trips among the redwoods at Sequoia National Park, where Janice’s love of nature, family, and simple togetherness came alive.

Her faith in Jesus was the cornerstone of her life. She loved singing in the choirs and worship teams at Calvary Community Church, Cathedral of Faith, and The Father’s House in San Jose. Music was her ministry, and her voice carried both strength and tenderness.

Over the years, Janice worked in roles that always seemed to revolve around people. Whether as a church receptionist, in sales, or as the beloved “Director of First Impressions” at NorthCoast Medical, she was known for her warm smile, welcoming spirit, and genuine care for others.

She also loved creating things with her hands—crafting, sewing, and finding joy in making something beautiful. Her creativity, generosity, and faith touched everyone who knew her.

Janice was preceded in death by her husband Kenneth, her parents Keith and Alma Winton, and her siblings Marjorie Schelling and Donald Winton. She is survived by her sisters Barbara Winton and Joyce Pluckebaum, her sons Scott (Enna) and Keith (Deanna), and her grandchildren Devin, Andrew, Jake, and Brayden.

Her family takes comfort knowing she is reunited with her beloved husband and singing once again in heaven’s choir. She leaves behind a legacy of love, faith, and kindness that will continue in the lives of all who were blessed to know her.
