Jean Irwin Crow, known to her family as Jeannie, passed peacefully on November 16, 2025. Jean was born on January 10, 1935, to Ivan and Charlotte Irwin in Dallas, Texas and lived her entire life in Dallas, except for a beautiful ten-year adventure on their farm in Martin’s Mill, Texas. Jean graduated from The Hockaday School and attended Southern Methodist University, where she was a member on the Kappa Alpha Theta Sorority. Jean was married to Judson Anthony (“Bobie”) Crow, Jr. until his death in 2006.
A woman of immeasurable talent, intelligence, wit, beauty and grace. Jean put her amazing eye for design and style to use designing the cabins of private planes in the early days of commercial aviation. She then founded RoCroCo with good friends Ug Rowe, Dudie Weber, and Anne Coke and together they produced beautiful ultra suede monogrammed handbags, silk batik dresses and scarves. Then, they moved on to create beautiful ceramic custom dishes. During her years on the farm, Jean grew Gerbera daisies and supplied many of the top Dallas florists. She was also the first to introduce “haricot vert” green beans to the Dallas market. Her next creative venture was photography. A trilingual lover of travel, Jean was particularly fond of Paris, San Miguel de Allende, and Charleston. She was also an avid golfer and a take-no-prisoners Bridge player, her children and grandchildren knew we were only ever playing for second place.
Jean is preceded in death by her husband Bobie, her sons Christopher Crash Crow, Judson Anthony Crow, III, and David Crow and her brother Ivan. She is survived by daughters Jean Anne Cheatham (Richard), Mary Ann (Nanny) Meier, daughter in law Margaret Crow, grandchildren Judson A. Crow, IV, Katherine Adams (Trey), Pete Cheatham (Adelaide), Alissa Guild (Josh), Sheamus Meier, Mitchell Meier and Jean Ann Meier and great grandchildren Henry Adams, Jack Adams, Lucille Cheatham, Eloise Cheatham and Freddie Guild.
We will remember Jean for her quiet strength and faith, passion, elegance, and adoration for her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
