Jean Inez Kugelmann Queller passed away on September 26, 2025, in Phoenix, Arizona. Her passing marks a poignant anniversary, as it occurred exactly twenty-three years after the death of her beloved husband Stephen Queller, on the same date in 2002.
Jean is lovingly remembered by her daughters Leslie Mikovits and husband Paul, and Christina Queller; cherished granddaughter Emma Queller and her boyfriend Noah De La Garza; and bonus grandsons Jon Mikovits and wife Madelyn, and Daniel Mikovits and wife Leslie Ann with their daughter Kamille. She also leaves behind her sisters Judith Butler and Janneen Brownell; brothers Richard Kugelmann Jr. and wife Pauline, Dean Kugelmann, and David Kugelmann; along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Born on October 22, 1948, in Trinity, Texas, Jean's life journey also led her through Florida, Tennessee, and Colorado, each place leaving a lasting mark on her life and the hearts of those she met. Jean called Rogersville, Tennessee home for many years, where she was affectionately called "Mama Jean". She was known for her welcoming spirit, often treating both of her daughters' friends as her own. She never met a stranger and leaves behind many who lovingly call her family.
She now joins in eternal peace those who went before her: her husband Stephen Queller; parents Richard Kugelmann Sr. and Frances Lightsey; and brothers Donald Kugelmann and Jody Brownell.
A celebration of Jean's life will be planned on the beaches of Florida, an especially meaningful place to her spirit. In honor of her legacy of grace and compassion to those who have faced struggles, donations may be made to an addiction recovery organization of your choice.
Jean's faith carried her through life's joys and sorrows alike, and those who knew her take comfort knowing she is at peace and reunited with her love for eternity. May her memory be a blessing to all who loved her, and may the light of faith continue to shine in their hearts.
