Jefferson Lee Gorman was born on April 26, 1947, and passed from this life on November 1, 2025, at the age of 78. Jeff was born in Tulsa, OK to Buford Wooten Gorman and Helen Ann Yarbrough Gorman. The family, including his now-deceased, older brother, Steve, later moved to Fort Smith, AR, where he graduated from Southside High School in 1966. He then joined the Army and served in the Vietnam War as a helicopter mechanic. In 1972 he married Karen Bankston Gorman, also of Fort Smith and after the family moved to Broken Arrow, they gave birth to their only child and daughter, Alicia Augusta Gorman on May 25, 1981. After the two divorced in 2003, Jeff married Susan Elaine Lawrence and became a proud stepfather to three beautiful stepdaughters, Sarah, Rachel and Hanna Guthrie. He also cherished his relationships with Melodie and Chris Hale, Susan's sister and her husband. Jeff continued his relationships with Susan's family after her untimely death in 2016 and often cared for the families' dogs when they travelled, delighting the dogs, their owners and Jeff himself. After Susan's passing Jeff and his first wife, Karen, renewed their friendship and continued their commitment to their daughter, Alicia. Jeff remained single but took great pleasure in his many friends who loved and supported him. They gathered most every Wednesday and Sunday night to eat together and watch sporting events on TV. The outpouring of their love in Jeff's passing is overwhelming and so greatly appreciated. Jeff was a fun-loving, charismatic person with a sensitive and loving heart. We were all blessed to know him and to know him WAS to love him. His passing has left a huge void in the hearts of his two families and many, many friends--all of us who loved him dearly and will never, ever forget the happy memories we shared with him.
