Send Flowers Plant A Tree
It is with heavy heart and profound sadness that we announce the passing of Jeffrey “Jeff” P Carlson, of Lake in the Hills, who died peacefully at home on October 30, 2025 at the much too young age of 42.
Born December 8, 1982 to Paul and Dorothy Carlson, Jeff was the youngest of three sons. He grew up competing in track and playing basketball and baseball with many of his friends with whom he maintained a relationship into their adult lives until and through his passing.
After graduating from Algonquin’s H.D. Jacobs High School in 2002, Jeff worked in the car wash industry, both managing facilities and selling parts, equipment and supplies to various establishments throughout the greater Chicago suburban area.
He enjoyed traveling, playing and watching sports and tending to his beloved dogs and cats. In a house full of Cubs fans, he somehow managed to become a White Sox fan. Their World Series victory in 2005 was a joy for him and gave him temporary bragging rights until 2016. He was just as happy for his family when the Cubs finally won it all 11 years later.
He was a very social and caring person, always trying to put family and friends ahead of himself. He was well-loved for that, but he didn’t take care of himself as well as he should have. He fell victim to the disease of addiction. One that far too many people suffer with, and from which he was unable to heal the damages it inflicted on his body.
He will be remembered for how much he loved and wanted to be loved and for all the laughter and joy he brought to those who were fortunate to be in his presence.
Jeff is survived by his parents Paul and Dorothy, Brothers Richard (Melyssa) Carlson and Brian (Jenny) Carlson. Nieces Brittany (Jeff) Kern, Kaitlyn (Logan) DeWulf, Brianna (Alex) Ravagnie and Lylah Carlson. Nephew Dayne Carlson. Great Nephew Jace Kern. Several aunts, uncles, cousins and many friends.
A private celebration of life for family and friends to honor Jeff will be held at a date and location to be determined.
