Jeffrey Lee Hungerman, age 69, born in Martins Ferry, Ohio, passed away peacefully on October 11, 2025 in Davenport, Florida, following a brief illness. He was surrounded by his loving family in his final moments.
Born on October 10, 1956, Jeff was the cherished son of Ronald and Betty Hungerman. He spent nearly two decades working in the coal mines, from 1977 to 1995, demonstrating a quiet strength and unwavering dedication throughout his career.
Jeff was a man of many passions. He found joy and fulfillment in woodworking, a craft he pursued with skill and creativity. He also loved fishing, listening to music, making crafts, and playing games on his phone. Above all, Jeff treasured time spent with his family, whose love and companionship meant everything to him.
He is survived by his devoted wife of 51 years, Alice Hungerman; his daughters, Cynthia Hibbitts (Jason) of Davenport, Florida, and Kathy Kingry (Travis) of Elkview, West Virginia; and his grandchildren, Nicole Spencer (Michael) of Elkview, West Virginia, and Isaiah Hibbitts of Davenport, Florida.
Jeff is also survived by his siblings: Betty Ann Cretors (Terry) of Lake City, Florida; Judy Nickerson of St. Petersburg, Florida; Rhonda Hills of Corpus Christi, Texas; and Andrew Hungerman of West Virginia. He leaves behind aunts, uncles and many nieces, nephews, and cousins who will remember him with love and fondness.
Jeff's legacy lives on in the love he gave, the laughter he shared, and the memories he created with those who knew him best. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
