Jerry Randall Blankenship Jr, age 67, passed away on August 29, 2025, in St Petersburg, Florida. Born on December 10, 1957, Jerry, also known to friends and family as Randy, was a lifelong resident of the area and graduated from Macon County High School.
Randy was a skilled paint contractor throughout his adult life, a profession that showcased his meticulous attention to detail and dedication. His true passions, however, lay in the great outdoors. As an avid fisherman and hunter, Randy found solace and joy in nature. His green thumb was well known among his friends and family, often sharing the bounty of his garden.
In December 2024, Randy achieved a significant personal milestone by receiving his Certificate of Ministry. He was committed to sharing his faith and compassion with others, touching many lives with his kindness and generous spirit.
Randy is survived by his daughter, Laura Beth Blankenship; son, Adam Blankenship; grandchildren, Blaine Blankenship and Alexis Warren; siblings, Billy, Kenny, Mike, John, and Vanessa Oldham. Matthew, Mark, and Michael Blankenship. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jerry Blankenship, Sr. and Shelby Jean Green; grandparents, Warner and Grace Bransford.
A memorial service to celebrate Randy's life will be held on November 9th, 2025, at 1:00 pm at the Defeated Creek Park Pavilion closest to the campground. Those who knew him will remember a man who lived his life with a deep appreciation for the natural world and a heartfelt dedication to his community and family.
