Gerald "Jerry" Edwin Davis went home to be with the Lord on September 21, 2025, at the age of 81. Born on September 25, 1943, in Cleveland, Ohio, Jerry grew up embracing the principles that guided his life. He consistently demonstrated kindness and generosity over the years, and his strong commitment to his family was evident in all his endeavors. Jerry leaves behind a legacy of love and selflessness that will be cherished by all who have the privilege of knowing him.
From an early age, Jerry showed ambition and determination—qualities that shaped his future. In high school, his peers recognized his potential, nominating him as "most likely to succeed and the best dressed." Jerry maintained a dapper style throughout his life, always favoring crisp dress shirts and polished shoes.
Jerry's strong work ethic was evident in his entrepreneurial pursuits. He began his working life alongside his sister Eileen, purchasing a paper route for the Cleveland Press from their older brother Bob. He later worked as a caddy and for a moving company. After completing six years of service in the army, Jerry attended Kent State University, where he earned a bachelor's degree in business management.
In 1975, Jerry advanced in the automotive industry at Audiovox Corporation, a distributor of car sound systems. His dedication and skill led to rapid promotions, culminating in his role as Vice President. Following this achievement, Jerry relocated to Tampa, Florida. Building on his success at Jerry Davis & Associates, he partnered with Norm Ferenz, his colleague and best friend, to establish Norman & Company. Their startup flourished into a successful enterprise.
In his later years, Jerry discovered a passion for tennis and quickly realized he was a natural at the sport. He began playing at Cheval, where he formed many lasting friendships. After relocating, Jerry continued to pursue tennis at the courts in East Lake. His skill and determination on the court earned him the admiration of younger players, who respected his abilities despite his age. Jerry played tennis up to April 2024, at which time he received a cancer diagnosis.
Jerry was an active participant in the Elevation Worship family (Efam), regularly attending Elevation Church Tampa Bay events, visiting the Ballantyne North Carolina campus, and participating in Elevation Nights in Tampa on October 4, 2023. He found great joy in worship each Sunday, cherishing the opportunity to sing and serve. Jerry's faith was a central force in his life, and he formed a close relationship with Jesus. His commitment to living by God's principles was evident in his daily actions, reflecting both deep beliefs and heartfelt devotion to his spiritual journey.
Jerry is survived by his sweetheart wife, Crystal Sisneros-Davis, whom he affectionately referred to as the love of his life. Their nine years together were marked by a profound, enduring love, with each day bringing new adventures and treasured memories that filled Jerry's life with extraordinary joy.
The couple found great happiness in attending concerts and comedy shows—experiences that filled their lives with laughter and music. Their shared sense of adventure took them to Little Palm Island, where they reveled in snorkeling and exploring the natural beauty that surrounded them. These special outings created lasting memories and deepened their bond.
At home, Jerry and Crystal enjoyed taking dance lessons and participating in karaoke, embracing moments of fun and lightheartedness together. Their joyful companionship also extended to their beloved pets: three rescued French bulldogs and their cherished cat, Tuxedo. The presence of their furry family members brought comfort and happiness to their lives, making their home a place of warmth and love.
Jerry was a loving father to Brad Davis (Katie) and Beth Maged, and a proud grandfather to Evan Lasky, Lauren, Juliana Maged, and Gemma Davis. His close relationships extended to his sisters, Eileen Marchese, and Jackie Davis, as well as his mother-in-law, Alice Sisneros. Jerry's family circle includes the Lucero family in Colorado and the Sisneros family in Wyoming.
