On November 9, 2025 Jim Reynolds passed quietly into the arms of his Savior and Lord surrounded by his family. He lived a life of service to others because of his love of Jesus. He was a devoted husband of 60 years to his wife Reva Reynolds who was awaiting his entrance into heaven. Jim was a fabulous father to Deborah (David) Patterson and Lisa (Gary) Waddle. He was the best Papaw ever to James "Jay" (Jennifer) Patterson, Gretchen (Branden) Waddle Miller, Rachel Waddle, and Nathan (Kara) Waddle. He also had six Great Grandchildren who adored him- Emily Miller, Audrey (Cohen) Miller Wright, Isaac Miller, Oliver Miller, Eliza Waddle, and Israel Waddle. He recently added a treasured Great-Great Grandson, Matthew Wright. And he was a father figure to many others. The biggest prayer of his life was to see all his family saved. He rejoiced as all of his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren became strong Christians serving the Lord, in large part due to his influence.
He was born in 1928 in Broughtontown, Ky. He has seen an incredible amount in his life. His first job was plowing the family farm with mules. He joined the army during World War II, working in the motor pool. When he got out of the army he bought a lumber mill and worked it with a team of horses. He then moved to Dayton, OH where he lived for 20 years while starting his construction career and his family. After moving to Pulaski County in 1969 he purchased Lakeview Restaurant. Over the course of his career, he built a residential construction business, ran a nursing home, and continued to grow the restaurant. And he did it all with the heart of a servant. He was always very active in his local church, serving as deacon and teaching Sunday School. He served faithfully at Crestview Baptist in Dayton, then was a charter member of Beacon Hill Baptist when he moved to Pulaski County. He helped to grow Community Baptist Mission, Quinton Baptist, Harmony Baptist, and Friendship Baptist Church with his time and resources. He was active in missions both in Kentucky and around the world. He finished his life of service at First Baptist with his family and much loved Sunday School class.
Jim was preceded in death by his brothers, Brad, Harold, and Ray, and his sisters, Zula, Audrey, Evelyn, and Libby.
He leaves behind a sister, Glenda Estes and a brother, Eugene Reynolds in addition to his daughters and their families.
Reflecting his desire that all would come to know Christ, donations can be made in lieu of flowers in care of Pulaski Funeral Home P.O. Box 697 Somerset, KY 42502 to the Reynolds-Waddle Africa Fund for the purpose of building teacher housing at the Massai school.
