JoAnn Roth Denney

JoAnn Denney, 81, passed away peacefully on September 23, 2025, in Fresno, California.

Not long after JoAnn was born on January 8, 1944, the Roth Family moved to Dallas, TX. After graduating from high school, JoAnn moved to Portland, OR to attend Multnomah School of the Bible. Bible school set up the foundation for her family and ministry life.

JoAnn dedicated her life to faith, family, and music. Over the course of 52 years, she taught hundreds of piano students from her home, sharing not only her musical talent but also her patience and encouragement with generations of learners.

For four decades, JoAnn was a member of The Bridge Church in Fresno, where she led dozens of women's Bible studies, influencing them with her teaching and practical applications of Scripture.

JoAnn is survived by her daughter Diane (Gordon) Down of Kamloops, BC and son Robert (Monica) Denney of San Marcos,CA, as well as five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her parents, Thomas and Maybelle Roth.

A memorial service will be held at The Bridge Church, 3438 E. Ashlan Ave, Fresno, on November 1st at 12 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Link Care Center at https://www.linkcare.org/.
