Joanne Rogers DaRosa, age 92, passed away peacefully on October 13, 2025, in West Chester, Ohio. Born on December 29, 1932, in Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin, Joanne lived a life marked by compassion, curiosity, and a deep commitment to education and faith.

Joanne's early years took her from the Midwest to the Southwest, where she attended West Phoenix High School in Arizona. She continued her academic journey at Arizona State University before earning her Bachelor of Science in Education from the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse. Her passion for teaching led her to a remarkable career that spanned both coasts of the United States and extended across the globe. Joanne taught primary grades in California, Wisconsin, and Virginia, as well as in Department of Defense schools overseas—including England, Japan, Germany, and Turkey—touching the lives of countless children with her dedication and warmth.

Her personal life was equally rich. Joanne shared 53 loving years with her husband Bill before his passing. She was also preceded in death by her parents Kenneth and Isabelle Rogers, her sister Cathy, and her twin-brother John. Despite these losses, Joanne remained a source of strength and kindness to those around her and is the last of her generation.

She is survived by her devoted son Alex and daughter-in-law Mariangela; nephews John, Jim, and Daniel; niece Yara; and held a special bond with her niece-in-law Cynthia and Cynthia's husband Greg. Joanne's family remembers her not only for her enduring love but also for the joy she brought into their lives through simple pleasures—whether it was sharing a meal or enjoying a quiet moment together.

Joanne had many passions that enriched her daily life. She adored cats and found joy in nurturing house plants. A lifelong learner at heart, she loved reading and stayed active through walking, swimming, and exercise. Her adventurous spirit was reflected in her love for travel and international cuisine—always best enjoyed with a glass of good wine.

A woman of deep faith, Joanne's spiritual life was central to who she was. She belonged to the Catholic Club during college and remained active in Bible study throughout her life. She was a faithful member of St. Margaret of York Parish and drew inspiration from an aunt who served as a nun.

Joanne lived predominantly in Alexandria, Virginia before retiring in Lake Mary, Florida. In recent years, Joanne made her home at Deerfield Springs where she formed close friendships with fellow residents who looked after one another with care and affection. She became a favorite among staff and nurses wherever she went—her gentle nature leaving an impression on all who met her.

Joanne Rogers DaRosa will be remembered as a sweet soul whose presence brought comfort and joy to many. Her legacy lives on through the lives she touched—as an educator, friend, mother, aunt—and through the dignity and quiet grace with which she lived each day.

May her memory bring peace to all who knew and loved her. A Funeral Mass will be held on November 22, 2025, 10:00 AM at Saint Margaret of York Catholic Church 9499 Columbia Road Loveland, OH 45140. A Memorial Gathering will follow at 11:30 AM at Deerfield Springs 3664 W. US 22 & OH-3 Loveland, OH 45140.
