Send Flowers Plant A Tree
JoAnne Fayola (Schafroth) Dvorak, 90, of Camp Springs, MD, died October 2nd, 2025. She was the daughter of Owen and Hattie Schafroth and wife of the late Vernon Dvorak. She suffered a sudden stroke and passed away in the hospital surrounded by family.

JoAnne is survived by son Eric, daughter Holly and late son, Joey. Our 'Nanni' is also survived by grandchildren: Katie, Peter, Sarah, Nick, Joe and Ali; and great-grandchildren: Jane, William and Mercy.

JoAnne grew up, mostly in Corning, Iowa; then moved to the University of Iowa, earning a BA in Fine Arts. She went on to have a lifelong career as an extraordinarily talented artist. She also was a gifted musician--playing guitar and singing, with her lovely soprano voice.

JoAnne joined and sold her multi-medium artwork at the Artists in Paradise Gallery in Big Pine Key, FL. She lived a "snowbird" lifestyle for several decades, split between Camp Springs and Big Pine Key. She also traveled quite a bit internationally and gained particular inspiration from Mexico, where she was commissioned to do interior design and create murals in many businesses.

JoAnne was a unique mixture of creative, adventurous, smart, beautiful and strong-minded. She will be deeply missed by her family and surviving friends. A Memorial Gathering will be held on November 1, 2025, from 11:30 AM to 01:00 PM at Pearson's Funeral Home, 701 7th Street, Corning, IA.
