John, William Cole (October 31, 1945 - November 10, 2025)
Born in Vancouver; schooled in Burnaby; bummed around the world from 1968 to 1972 visiting 50 countries on four continents; worked for BC Hydro/BC Gas from 1972 to 2002.
Enjoyed walking, cycling, long road trips, hiking in the Rockies.
Predeceased by parents W. Ross and Vera M. Cole, and brother-in-law Herb. Survived by older sister, Judy; her daughters, Jennifer and Claire, and their families.
Lived in False Creek South since 1984.
I went to VGH ER the morning of November 5 because of my COPD, and was diagnosed shortly afterwards with massive heart failure due to nine separate blockages of 60 - 100%. 'Who would a thunk it? '
Many thanks to my family for everything, and everybody at VGH for their support in my MAiD endeavour.
John was put to sleep with his family by his side and the Weavers singing "So Long It's Been Good To Know You" playing in the background.
