John J. "Jack" Hentz, 91, of Strongsville, Ohio, passed away on October 30, 2025. Born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, on May 6, 1934, he was the son of a local policeman and grew up alongside his three siblings, Rita, Joan, and Jody.
Jack served in the Army before embarking on a lifelong career with American Greetings. He was a dedicated employee who valued hard work—a trait he instilled in his children. Jack married twice, first to Betty, who predeceased him at the age of 44. They had three children: Andrea, Diane, and John, the latter of whom passed away in 2012. Later, Jack found love again with Lenore Hentz, to whom he was married for 44 years. Lenore cared for him lovingly.
Known for his love of boating, golf, and old western movies, Jack was also a devoted father who took exceptional care of his special needs daughter. He relished the moments spent with his two grandchildren taking pride in their accomplishments as they grew.
Jack is survived by his loving wife, Lenore; daughters, Andrea and Diane; stepsons, including Greg, who along with his wife, Kim held a special place in Jack's heart; his cherished grandchildren and his very loving nieces and nephews in Delaware and Philadelphia.
A Memorial Mass will be held for Jack at St. Colette Catholic Church in Brunswick, Ohio, on Monday, November 17, 2025, at 11:00 AM, with a luncheon to follow at Amici's in North Royalton. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Jack's life.
