It is with great sadness that we share the unexpected passing of our beloved son and brother, John Joseph (“Johnny”) Lattanzio, III, at his home on September 29th after a sudden heart attack.
Born in Boston, Johnny was raised in Walpole, MA before graduating from Tri-County Regional Technical Vocational high school with a specialty in mechanics.
He went on to a long and successful career in trucking, a profession well-suited to his love of the open road. Eventually Johnny bought his home and settled in Foxboro, MA, building a fulfilling life with family and friends.
With his mischievous smile and unmistakable laugh, Johnny was a tough, handsome “Harley Davidson” guy on the outside, but incredibly soft on the inside. His kind and gentle nature was known to all, but especially his family. He never let more than a day go by without calling to check on both his mom and his sister, being sure to ask if they needed anything.
To Judy, he was and will always be her sweet “baby boy.” To many others, Johnny was an unwavering and loyal, lifelong friend. Even by animals, which he adored, his kindness was felt.
An extremely hard worker, Johnny often pushed through health challenges to get the job done. He was proud to have recently started working for a wonderful company based in his hometown of Walpole, MA.
Whether behind the wheel of a massive, powerful truck or enjoying a ride on his Harley, Johnny was most comfortable on the road. We like to picture him now, on his Harley, driving fast and loud toward the sunset. Johnny will be missed with all our hearts, until we meet again.
Johnny is survived by his mother Judith Shilowski (Humora), his sister Michelle Godfrey and her husband Bill, his niece Rachael Godfrey, and father-figure Uncle Vinny Lattanzio. He is also survived by his grandmother Muriel (“GG”) Humora, and many loving aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Johnny is predeceased by his dear stepfather Robert Shilowski, grandfather Edward Humora, and grandparents John and Aurora Lattanzio.
Family and friends are invited to a visitation at Kraw-Kornack Funeral Home in Norwood, MA on Wednesday, October 8th from to 4 to 7pm. A Funeral Mass will take place at St. Timothy Catholic Church in Norwood, MA, on Thursday, October 9th at 10:30am. Interment will follow at Knollwood Memorial Cemetery in Canton, MA.
