John Joseph Morrison, 85, passed away peacefully on November 1, 2025, in Omaha, Nebraska.
Born on March 26, 1940, in West Point, Nebraska, John grew up with a strong work ethic that would define his life. He began working at a young age in a grocery store, laying the foundation for a lifetime of dedication and perseverance. Eventually, he found his calling in the automotive world, selling cars in many different places for many years.
John had a lifelong passion for cars. He enjoyed working on them and racing them in his younger days and was an active member of the Pogos of Omaha car club. His enthusiasm extended to cheering on the Huskers during family gatherings to watch football games. These interests brought him joy and camaraderie throughout his life.
Faith played an important role in John's life. He attended Mass regularly at St. James Catholic Church until mobility challenges made it difficult to do so; afterward, he continued to participate by watching Mass on television.
Above all else, John was a devoted father and grandfather. He is lovingly remembered by his sons: Steve; Brian (Sherri); Jeff; Greg (Jenny); and Chris (Joellyn). He was preceded in death by his parents William and Anne, his siblings Lorraine, Bill, Marian, Anne, and Mike as well as his youngest son Tim (Jenny).
John’s legacy lives on through his 16 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. Known for being caring and generous with his time and talents, he was always ready to lend a hand to anyone in need.
In a final act of generosity, John has donated his body to Creighton University for scientific study.
May John’s memory bring comfort to those who knew him and continue to inspire acts of kindness in his honor.
Family will receive guests starting at 5:30PM with a Memorial Service at 6:30PM
