John Smythe

John Smythe, 81, passed away on October 23, 2025, in Palm Bay, Florida. Born on February 16, 1944, in Darby, Pennsylvania, John lived a full and meaningful life marked by dedication to his family, community involvement, and enduring friendships.

John graduated from St. Margaret Mary High School before continuing his education at Penn State University. His academic journey laid the foundation for a life of purpose and connection, both personally and professionally.

Throughout his life, John was deeply involved in several civic organizations that reflected his commitment to service and camaraderie. He was an active member of the Elks, the Moose Lodge, and the American Legion—groups through which he built lasting friendships and contributed meaningfully to his community. Those who knew him remember him as someone who brought warmth and good humor wherever he went.

John was a devoted family man. He is survived by his two sons, Jay and Craig; two grandsons, John and Aaron; and two sisters, Jackie and Rose. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife Sharyn and his brother Michael.
