The family of John C. Thomas is saddened to announce his passing on October 18, 2025, in New Haven, Connecticut. He was 65 years old.
Born on February 27, 1960, in New Haven, Connecticut, John Charles Thomas spent his life rooted in the community where he was born. He was a man of quiet strength and dedication who found fulfillment in his work and deep joy in the bonds of family.
John enjoyed a career in carpentry, a craft that allowed him to build not only with his hands but also with heart. He especially cherished the time he spent working alongside his brother Paul, sharing both labor and laughter through the years. His skill and commitment to his trade were evident in every project he touched.
A man of the Catholic faith, John carried his beliefs with humility and grace throughout his life. His devotion extended beyond church walls into the way he treated others—with kindness, loyalty, and compassion.
John was a loving son, brother, and uncle. He held a special place in the lives of those around him and took great pride in being part of a large and close-knit family. He is survived by his brothers Paul Thomas and Raymond Thomas; sisters Eve LaFleche and Rose Lombardi; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews who will remember him fondly.
He was predeceased by his parents, Herbert and Lillian Thomas; brothers William Thomas Sr. and Herbert Thomas Jr.; and sisters Lillian Hesselman and Vera Thomas.
Among John's greatest joys was the companionship of his beloved dog Petey—his best friend—who brought him comfort and unconditional love.
Gone but not forgotten; we will always carry your memory in our hearts.
