Joseph L. Novak, aged 70, passed away on October 29, 2025, in Perrysburg, OH, after a brief but courageous battle with cancer. Born on March 2, 1955, Joe was a resident of Wakeman, OH, known for his hardworking nature.
Joe graduated from Swanton High School in 1974 and soon embarked on a career that saw him become a skilled auto mechanic and an over-the-road truck driver, professions that suited his love for hands-on work and travel.
He enjoyed time spent kayaking and fishing. These hobbies not only brought him peace but also deepened his connection with nature.
Joe is survived by his sons, Joe (Lindsay) Novak, Tim Novak; daughter, Heather Carmona; grandchildren, Brennan, Mitchell, Dominick, Emelia Nagel, Dylan, Triston (Kendal), and Xavier Novak; great grandchildren Scarlette and Ronon; sister, Terri (Terry) Simpson; brother, Mike Novak; sisters, Linda (Jim) Chambers and and Lynne (Eric) Watkiss. He also leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews. Joseph was preceded in death by his father, Joe Novak; mother, Lee Beery; brother, Tom Novak; and sister, Kathi Millenbaugh.
Joe made the selfless decision to donate his body to science. A memorial service is being planned for a later date to celebrate his life.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Hospice of Northwest Ohio.
