Jude hit the dirt in Nogales and
learned riding the old-fashioned way—
by catching whatever horse wandered across the line
and hanging on tight.
From then on she showed, showed up, and when the spirit moved her—
she surely showed out.
Tough as rawhide, dishing out tough love,
sometimes too tough for her own good.
Yet her soft heart burned as
fiery as the Arizona sun.
She had a habit of working too hard, a knack for stirring up trouble,
and a dance that took two steps.
From her father, she had a fondness for all plants,
And was lover of critters of every kind.
She loved westerns, music, and her cowboys Mick and Red.
She was a mentor and a friend, made art with her hands,
and kept her boots planted deep in the earth she cherished.
Jude lived big, rode hard, and loved strong.
Now she's riding on ahead, while Lima and Lucille hold down the fort,
leaving us with stories, songs, and the scent of desert blooms.
Her trail will be honored on November 1, 2025, from 4-7 p.m.
at 1305 Spud Rock Place, Tucson, AZ. All who knew and loved her are welcome.
