Judy Marie Walther (née Wasniewski), of Northlake, Illinois, passed away peacefully on October 26, 2025, at the age of 84.
Born on July 23, 1941, in Chicago, Illinois, Judy was the daughter of Edward and Harriet (Glowacki) Wasniewski. She grew up alongside her three siblings and carried the values of love and resilience throughout her life.
Judy shared a loving marriage with her husband, Boyd Walther. Together they built a life filled with warmth and devotion. She was a loving mother to Vicky Schorsch, Valery (Mark) Dodgson and Brandon (Teah Goldberg) Ramos. Her nurturing spirit extended to her grandchildren: Ben (Devon) Dodgson, Sharon (Tony) Hughes, Ruth (David) Aldama, David (Catherine) Dodgson, Zeze Schorsch, Caroline (Paul) Wampler and Alex (Leoma) Schorsch and numerous great-grandchildren. Judy also cherished her relationships with her brother James Wasniewski and sister Nancy Mueller. She was preceded in death by her parents and her sister Janet Atkins.
Judy found great joy in dancing—whether ballroom or square dancing—and she embraced every opportunity to travel. (She lived several years in both Saudi Arabia and Costa Rica.) These passions brought color and adventure to her life and allowed her to connect with others through shared experiences and joyful movement.
She will be remembered fondly by numerous nieces, nephews, great-grandchildren, and all who had the pleasure of knowing her.
A private family memorial will be held to celebrate her life. Donations in Judy's honor can be made to World Relief - Chicagoland.
May Judy's memory bring comfort to those who loved her and continue to inspire joy in their hearts.
