Karen Eileen Kearns was born on October 2, 1950, in Rochester, New York. Karen grew up in Rochester and proudly graduated from Our Lady of Mercy School for Young Women in 1968. Karen continued her education at The State University of New York in Albany, earning both her Bachelor's and Master's degrees in English. Her love of learning continued throughout her life.
Karen spent over 30 years in the insurance industry as a senior underwriter for Aetna and Travelers insurance companies. She excelled at training and developing new underwriters, and experienced underwriters relied on her knowledge as well. Karen retired in 2017.
Karen was fond of history and music. She was also an avid reader and loved to write her thoughts in the margins of each book she read. Karen was known for her generosity, especially by supporting her friend's children with their school activities. Karen will be remembered for her steadfast faith in the Lord and fierce love for her friends and family.
Karen was preceded in death by her parents, James Donald Kearns and Marion Eileen Kearns née Repp; her brother, Michael Kevin Kearns; and her aunt, Eleanor Repp, who was like a second mother to her. She is survived by her nephew, Kevin James Kearns (Jaclyn).
A mass will be held in Karen's memory on Saturday, November 1, 2025, at 7:30 pm in Christ the King Parish, Corpus Christi Church.

Our Lady of Mercy in Rochester will hold their annual Alumnae Memorial Mass on Saturday, November 1, 2025, at 4:00 pm in the Mercy Motherhouse Chapel, where prayers will also be offered up in Karen's memory.
