Karen Marie Querubin was born 6 January 1960, the third child and third daughter of Robert & Patricia Querubin. Born in Belmawr, NJ, Karen moved to Cherry Hill with her family while still a toddler, where she spent the remainder of her childhood as the family grew to include another 2 sisters and three brothers. Always an adventurer, earliest local memories of Karen are of her riding her tricycle around the block stone naked while the rest of her family still slept at home. Growing up in a community where everyone knew her helped make this an innocent and amusing anecdote. That spirit never left her, and Karen's lifelong love of travel saw her travel throughout the world, from Australia to Russia to Brazil and to most of Europe.

Karen was the only one of the 8 siblings to demonstrate any of her mother's artistic abilities, first through art and most creatively with culinary practice: there was no kitchen utensil so obscure she didn't always have two versions available. Her cupboards remain stocked with half full jars of spices and herbs known only to other dedicated foodies, and she is the only person I know to have owned her own electric knife sharpener.

Life was not a checklist but a world of endless opportunity to be sampled as interests arose; she dropped in and out of university, picked grapes to island hop around Greece, took up skydiving, kayaked alligator infested waters, hiked trails in Ireland. Karen pursued new opportunities moving jobs and cities with ease, living in Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, Latvia, England, Baltimore, St Petersburg and Clearwater, Florida. Even down time from work or travel became an avenue for new experiences, to begin collecting pottery or volunteering with the Red Cross. It was, though, the simple pleasures of life Karen enjoyed most: sharing good food with family and friends, sipping drinks by the pool or walking her beloved dog Kenzie. On the devastating news of her illness, Karen chose to manage her passing as she chose to live her life, meeting it head-on and on her own terms. Karen left us on 7 August 2025 at home with her sister Terese by her side. She will be missed for the rest of our lives. She is survived by her mother Patricia Querubin and siblings Pat Ellis of London, Cecile Querubin of Santa Rosa, Bob Querubin of Cherry Hill, Tom Querubin of Cherry Hill, Terese and Lynn Skelly of Philadelphia, Patrick Querubin of Latvia, and Katie Querubin of St Petersburg, and by nieces and nephews, Tess Skelly of Bath, England, Conor Skelly of New York City, Declan Skelly of New York City, and Katharine Skelly of Boston.
