Kasimer "Kazz" Zinga, Jr., age 55, of Gluckstadt, Mississippi, and formerly of Monroe, Louisiana, passed away on October 11, 2025. Born on June 7, 1970, in New Orleans, Louisiana, Kazz was known for his warmth, humor, and vibrant spirit that left an impression on all who knew him.
A gifted chef, Kazz poured his heart into every dish he created. His passion for food was equal to his love for fishing, football, and professional wrestling. Whether casting a line or cheering on the Tigers with spirited enthusiasm, Kazz lived life with joy and intensity. His encyclopedic knowledge of wrestling made him a beloved commentator during matches—offering loud, detailed analysis and plenty of laughter. He never missed the chance to find the baby in the king cake and celebrated Mardi Gras year-round with gusto.
Kazz's home was filled with love—including that shared with his cherished fur babies. His generous heart and infectious energy made everyone feel welcome. He lit up every room with his presence and left behind countless memories filled with laughter and kindness.
He is lovingly remembered by his sister, Franny Zinga Kelly, and her husband Bob; his love, Christy Smith; his nephew, Zander Kelly, and his wife Jordan; his nieces, Gabby Kelly Dear and her husband Zac; Analise Kelly; two great-nephews, Everett Dear and Asa Jude Kelly; numerous Aunts, Uncles and cousins.
Kazz was preceded in death by his parents, Kasimer "Cass" Zinga, Sr., and Barbara "Bunny" DeDual Zinga, as well as grandparents, George Zinga, Marie Zinga, and George and Frances DeDual who raised him after his parents passed away.
A celebration of Kazz's life will be held in Monroe, Louisiana in January 2026. A graveside service will also be held at Metairie Cemetery in New Orleans at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to organizations supporting veterans, first responders, police funds, or local animal rescues.
