Kathleen Mary Casey

Kathleen (Kathy) Mary Casey, born on September 9,1946, passed away peacefully on October 27, 2025, surrounded by her family. Kathy, known for her kind and generous spirit, dedicated 30 years of her life to education within the Omaha Public Schools, most notably at Skinner Magnet School. Her outstanding commitment to teaching was recognized in 1999 when she received the Alice Buffett Outstanding Teacher Award.

Kathy was a proud graduate of the University of Nebraska Omaha (UNO), where she completed her higher education. Her legacy in education and her impact on her students' lives will be remembered by all who knew her.

Kathy leaves behind a loving family, including her brothers Daniel (Marilyn) Orr, Timothy Orr, Thomas (Shannon) Orr; sisters Maureen Sronce and Colleen (Edward) Muth; stepsons Robert Casey, William (Kayleen) Casey, and Barry (Laura) Casey; and grandsons Connor, Riley, and Parker Casey. Kathy is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews, each of whom held a special place in her heart.

Kathy was preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Patricia Orr; her beloved husband, Robert Casey; and her sister, Patricia Kitta.

A Celebration of Life will be held on November 23, 2025, 1PM – 4PM, at the White House Bar, 7768 Cass Street, Omaha NE where friends and family can gather to honor her memory and legacy. Kathy's life was a testament to the power of education and the lasting impact of a generous heart. She will be deeply missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing her.
