Kenneth Ray Mezo (Jones), aka Ken/Kenny, born on August 12, 1951, was called to Heaven peacefully in the comfort of his home on August 31st at the age of 74, but his life was much more than dates.
Ken was born in Chicago, raised in West Chicago, a 45 year resident of Aurora, Illinois and recently moved to North Texas. He is lovingly remembered by his wife of 52 years, Cathi; his children Charity (Michael) Gallagher and Crystal (Bruce) Westfield; his granddaughters, Lizette and Naomi; his sister Sherri Bell; nephew Wesley Ramsey; and countless relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his mom (Dorothy Jones), and his sister (Dorothy "Dottie" Ramsey).
He was an extraordinary example of the love of Christ, demonstrated by his ability to connect with and serve people of "all walks of life". Ken demonstrated the love of Jesus by sharing the gospel through Trucking with Jesus Ministries, a ministry birthed through the vision of Ken and his friend. It was through that ministry that Ken shared the gospel in the streets, at the work release center, Bible study in his home, passed out Bibles and tracks, and performed baptisms.
Aside from sharing the love of Christ, Ken will be remembered for his ability to connect, his servant's heart, his laughter, music, and hard work.
The family is holding a Celebration of Life to honor Kenny on October 11, 2025.
