In Loving Memory
Celebrating a Life Well Lived
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Kenneth (Ken/Kenny) J. Rac who departed this life on October 25, 2025, in Cocoa, FL. Born on July 26, 1947, Ken lived a life filled with love, kindness, and dedication to family, friends, and community.
Ken is remembered as an amazing & loving dad, brother and friend. He touched the lives of everyone around him with warmth and compassion. His unwavering strength, loyalty and gentle spirit were a source of calm, security and love to all who knew him.
Ken is survived by his three children, Joseph (Lisa), Cynthia (Jeff), and Leah, three grandchildren, Joseph Jr (Caitlin), Courtney (Craig), and Staci (Joe), as well as seven great grandchildren, one sister (Dorena) and two brothers (Danny and Larry (Linda)). All will forever hold his memory in their hearts.
Ken served his country for 4 yrs in the United States Navy. Where he made a new brother and best friend in Larry Walker. Larry truly was part of Ken's entire family as Uncle Larry / Ogre!
Ken as a veteran was a member of The American Legion Post 22, Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) Post 4534, and the Elks No. 1532.
A locksmith by trade, Ken was the previous owner / proprietor of Brevard Lock & Key, Lacey's Lock Service and A-1 Locksmith. Starting out in Cocoa Village and expanding to Rockledge and Titusville. Ken was known and revered throughout the locksmith community in Brevard. If you ever had a spare key made, were locked out of your house or vehicle, had a briefcase unlocked or had your business rekeyed and more, you likely knew Ken. He was proud to think his business kept everyone safe.
He also fancied himself an antique dealer, though his family loving referred to him as the junk man. He was also the previous owner / proprietor of Rac's Used Furniture (Antiques, Collectables and Glassware). He never saw a garage sale he could pass up, and he found so much joy in the treasures he found everywhere he went (cartoon glasses being his biggest weakness). He also cherished the peacefulness of his pond and property, where you could find him walking around or sitting by the water and just living. Ken's legacy continues through the lives he's impacted. Ken will be deeply missed but fondly remembered for just being him.
A Celebration of Life for Ken will be held on Sunday, November 23, 2025, at Veterans Memorial Center, Inc 400 South Sykes Creek Parkway, Merritt Island, FL at 10AM ET. Family, friends, and all whose lives were touched by Ken are welcome to attend and share memories.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that you hit a yard sale or plant a tree in Ken's memory.
Rest in peace, Kenneth J. Rac. Your legacy of love and kindness will live on in our hearts forever.
