Kent Semelroth passed away peacefully on November 8, 2025 at the age of 67 in Coppell, TX. A beloved husband, brother, father and grandfather, he was born on November 17, 1957 in Peoria, IL to the late Joann and Arthur Semelroth. A graduate of Peoria Heights High School (1975) and Millikin University (1979).
He is survived by his wife of 46 years Tamara Semelroth, his two children, Ian (Michelle) Semelroth and Isabel (David) Semelroth, and one grandson, Cason Semelroth.
Kent’s hobbies were an essential part of who he was. He was passionate about motorcycles and outdoorsmanship. When he wasn’t traveling the world for work, he was traveling North America with his beloved wife for new adventures.
In recent years, he received a title that would become his most cherished, Big Papa. He adored time with his grandson, Cason. Kent’s wisdom and playful spirit will live on through those memories.
The legacy that Kent leaves behind includes caring for those he held dear in moments of triumph and tribulation, as well as his love of travel and seeing what the world has to offer. His words of wisdom and joking nature will forever be reminders of who Kent was.
Kent was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur and Joann Semelroth, his in-laws, Jack and Norma Tull, half-sister Sharon Cronin, brother-in-laws, Mark Tull and Jimmy Darnell. Along with his wife, children, and grandson, he is survived by his sister, Julie Darnell, brother-in-laws Lloyd (Mary) Tull and Kevin Tull, along with many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions made to the Alzheimer’s Foundation of America, Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation, or the JoAnn Landis Semelroth Memorial Endowed Nursing Scholarship.
