Kimberly Jean "Kim" Schmudlach, age 57, passed away on November 9, 2025, in Madison, Wisconsin. Born on August 4, 1968, in Madison, she spent her life rooted in the community that shaped her and which she gave so much back to in return.

Kim was the beloved daughter of Florence Schmudlach and the late Thomas Schmudlach. She grew up in Poynette, Wisconsin, where she attended Poynette Elementary, Middle, and High School, graduating with the Class of 1986. Her early years were marked by a strong sense of family and faith. Kim was baptized at Trinity Lutheran Church in Madison and completed her Sunday School and Confirmation classes at Dekorra Lutheran Church, where she remained a lifelong member.

A devoted mother and grandmother, Kim is lovingly remembered by her daughters Barbara Carpenter, Nicole Holford, and Rachel Gensmer; and her cherished grandchildren Elizabeth Carpenter, Thomas Carpenter, Tiffany Carpenter, and Fynn Holford. She also leaves behind her sister Dawn Schmudlach-Jasper (Cliff Jasper) and her mother Florence Schmudlach.

Kim had a vibrant spirit and a wide range of interests that brought joy to those around her. She found peace and creativity in crocheting and flower gardening—pastimes that reflected her nurturing nature. Her adventurous side came alive on the open road as she rode her motorcycle with confidence and freedom. As a teenager, Kim discovered a passion for martial arts and became a gifted karate student. Her dedication led to remarkable achievements—including besting both her father and Sensei in tournament board breaking—an accomplishment that spoke to her strength and determination.

She was preceded in death by her father Thomas Schmudlach; grandparents William and Viola Schmudlach; and Raymond and Marian Munson.

Kim will be remembered as a loving child, parent, grandma (Nana), sister, and friend. Her memory will continue to bring comfort to all who knew her.
A Memorial Service will be held on November 22, 2025, at 11:00 AM at Dekorra Lutheran Church N3099 Smith Rd. Visitation will be at Dekorra Lutheran from 10AM until the time of the service
