Wah Nok “Knox” Moy, beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend, passed away peacefully in Burnaby on November 15, 2025, at the age of 83. Born on August 19, 1942, in Kunming, Yunnan, China, Knox came to Canada at the age of 12, beginning a new chapter that would shape the rest of his life. He later earned his Bachelor of Applied Science in Mechanical Engineering from the University of British Columbia, with a focus on Aerospace. He went on to serve proudly in the Royal Canadian Air Force, concluding his service with distinction at the rank of Captain. Knox went on to build a career as a consultant and entrepreneur, specializing in process and systems management - a natural fit for his analytical way of thinking.
Knox was known for his kindness and genuine interest in others. He was always willing to help - offering guidance, solving problems, and showing up whenever someone needed him. He approached life with warmth and humour. He loved travel, good food, family gatherings, new experiences and any opportunity to connect with people. Above all, he cherished time with his five grandchildren, who were among his greatest joys.
He is survived by his loving wife of over 55 years, Pui Shu “Patsy” Moy; son Dan (Jeanne), daughter Michelle (Sergio), and grandchildren Matthew, Jacob, Anabela, Amalia and Braeden. He will also be dearly missed by brother Walick (Trudy) and sister Mimi Chu (Clifton), along with extended family, nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews and many dear friends. Knox is predeceased by his father and mother, Park Kaing and Fanny Moy; aunt, June Wong; brother, Walter (Kathy); mother-in-law, Loretta Cheng; and niece, Lian Sung.
The family extends heartfelt thanks to all the doctors and healthcare professionals who supported Knox over the past three years, with special gratitude to Dr. Abidin and the compassionate team at Burnaby General Hospital, including Ward 3C.
A gathering to honour and remember Knox will take place at Ocean View (Burnaby). A viewing will be held on Monday, December 8, from 7:00–8:45 p.m., followed by a service on Tuesday, December 9, at 10:00 a.m., with a lunch reception on-site afterward.
In lieu of flowers, the family welcomes donations in Knox’s memory to the Royal Columbian Hospital Foundation (Mental Health) at www.rchfoundation.com.
