Kristin Margaret “Kris” Geiger, 78, passed away on October 29, 2025, in Kansas City, Missouri. Born on January 21, 1947, in Stillwater, Minnesota, where she lived her formative years and graduated from high school in the class of 1965. Kris went on to live a life enriched by global experiences, higher education and meaningful connections.
Kris was the daughter of Florian and Margaret Crever and grew up in Minnesota alongside her sisters Carole Brower, Kathleen (Kay) Benton, and Rebecca (Becky) Zieske. Her early years fostered a curiosity that would lead her to explore the world far beyond her hometown.
A passionate traveler with an adventurous spirit, Kris embraced life abroad with enthusiasm. She made homes in Mexico and China, where she taught English and built enduring friendships. Her love of language and culture allowed her to connect deeply with people across continents, leaving a lasting impression wherever she went.
Kris was mother to four wonderful children: Christopher Geiger (Michelle) of Toledo, Ohio; Hans Geiger (Susan) of San Antonio, Texas; Alisa Raney (Mitch) of Centerville, Texas, and Dawn Ketchum (Eddie) of Springfield, Missouri. She found great joy in her role as a grandmother to Ryan Geiger, Aaron Geiger Cori Geiger, Brandon Geiger, Aiden Geiger, Stevie Raney, Noah Ketchum, and Sam Ketchum. She celebrated their lives and achievements with pride.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her sister Rebecca (Becky) Zieske.
Kris’s warmth and openness transcended borders. With a welcoming nature and generous heart, she formed lasting bonds with people from all walks of life. Her legacy lives on through the lives she touched—both near and far.
Kris lived life her way. She was fiercely independent and genuinely one of a kind. She did not want a formal service of remembrance. She would rather that her friends and family remember her with a warm smile and thoughts of the special moments they shared.
