Born on October 27, 1937, in Oakford, Illinois, Laurena lived a life defined by kindness, dedication, and service to others. Her warm heart and generous spirit left a lasting impression on all who had the pleasure of knowing her.
Laurena devoted many years to her career as a waitress, where she was admired for her unwavering commitment to excellence. She took great pride in her work and was known for making every customer feel welcome and valued. Her attentive service and cheerful presence brought joy to countless patrons over the years.
A faithful member of the Baptist church, Laurena's life was deeply rooted in faith and community. She found fulfillment in giving to others and was especially known for her love of baking. Her homemade cookies and sweets were treasured by family, friends, and neighbors alike—shared with love and generosity that reflected her caring nature.
Laurena's legacy lives on through her six children: Linda Stanley, Debbie Marquardt, Donna Barlow, Kathy Barlow, Charles Barlow, and Carolyn DeMarco. She was preceded in death by her beloved son Ronald Barlow and his father Richard Barlow.
Laurena had many siblings. Predeceased are Larry Hill, Jo Ann Lutes, and Roger Hill. Survived by her are Donald Hill and Kenneth Hill. She also had 10 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, 2 great great grandchildren.
Her memory will remain a source of comfort and inspiration to all who knew her. May her kindness continue to shine through those she leaves behind.
Laurena Josephine "Rena" Barlow (Hill), age 87, passed away peacefully on September 28, 2025, in West Palm Beach, Florida.
She resided in Hallandale Beach Florida for the past 34 years.
A funeral service will be held on October 27, 2025, at 11:00 AM at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens, 2401 Davie Road Fort Lauderdale, Florida 33317.
