Linda Ann Downes

Our dear "Nonie" was welcomed into heaven on 10/16/25. She joins her beloved husband Bob ("Baga"), sister Janie, brothers Brad and John, mother Ruth, father Bradford, and best friend Laura. She leaves behind many loving family members and friends, including her daughter Megan (Jim) of Sycamore, IL, son Brennan (Sheila) of Gales Ferry, CT, daughter Erin (Peter) of Coralville, IA, and adoring grandchildren Gabe, Keira, Colin, Liam, Nora, Gavin, Evan, William, and Lana.

Linda was a loving and supportive daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. A nurse by profession, she was always taking care of others and always sought to be of help. She was also an avid birdwatcher, animal lover, skilled crafter, lover of music and singing, talented pianist and guitar player, master of sudoku, lover of all things chocolate (especially milk duds), and sports fan. Had more sports been offered for girls in school when she was growing up, she would have surely been an accomplished athlete (she loved basketball). She spent countless hours outdoors taking long walks with her sweet dog Bean and enjoyed nature. Her heart longed for the beautiful mountains of Colorado and the cool waters of Lake Michigan. Her love of music kept her up late into the night playing piano or guitar.

Above all, she was a kind and generous human being who touched the lives of many. She will be sorely missed. Take comfort in the fact that Nonie is in a better place now, no doubt fishing or playing cards with Baga.

In lieu of flowers, consider planting trees in her honor through the Arbor Day Foundation, or donating to a cause close to your heart.
