Linda Jane Forcione, age 85, passed away on October 6, 2025 in Gilbert, Arizona

Born in Syracuse, New York. Graduated from Minoa High School in 1958. After graduating she went to work for the Syracuse Post Standard Newspaper. It was through a fellow worker that she was introduced to Francis Forcione through a blind date which was spent in the rear seat of her fellow employee’s new 1958 Impala convertible with the top down in April. It was love at first sight for both Linda and Francis and they were married a year and a half later and spent 66 loving years of marriage together. They had a Son Scott and Daughter Karen Who gave them 6 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren including their Grandson Dominic Forcione who passed away the same day that Linda did. Linda also has two brothers Oliver Hills of Daytona Beach, Florida and Peter Hills of Newtown, Pennsylvania

Linda was a loving and dedicated wife and mother and because of Francis’s career which took them all over the United States having moved 11 times she did most of the bringing up of their children because Francis was away so much. She also worked most of her life. In the beginning just the help pay the bills.
She held administrative positions with The American Israel Public Affairs Committee in Washington, DC and San Francisco, CA. She retired In 1999.

Linda was dedicated to her parent Oliver and Jane Hills and was their care giver for the first 10 years of her retirement.

Linda was also an avid gourmet cook and had a collection of over 1000 cookbooks of which she had read most of them. She took many cooking lessons and before she became ill hosted many gourmet dinners.

Linda was also an avid needle pointer, quilter and hooking and left behind many beautiful pieces that she did.

Linda was also a lover of creatures and they always had multipal cats and dogs. And our last kitty of 16 years Tony died 3 weeks before Linda.
Before becoming ill she spent much time feeding the birds in their back yard including many families of quail. When one of the quail chicks went missing Linda was heart sick.

Linda was Baptized in the Kirkville, NY Methodist Church and a Memorial Service will be held there sometime in the late spring or early summer of 2026 and she will be buried in the Kirkville Cemetery

Linda’s last 6 years were marked by profound physical and mental challenges due to illness. Yet even through that hardship, the strength of her spirit endured and she fought right to the end. Her memory will remain a source of comfort and inspiration to those that knew her.
