Linda P. Hilderbrand, 82, passed away peacefully on September 9, 2025, in Jacksonville, Florida.
Born on July 25, 1943, in Asheboro, North Carolina, Linda was the only child of Daniel Clifton Presnell and Mary Elizabeth Presnell. She graduated from Franklinville High School, where she met and later married her high school sweetheart, Harvey 'Coleman' Hilderbrand.
Linda's lifelong love of learning led her to earn a double major in Psychology and English from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro, graduating with honors. She later obtained her MBA from Georgia Southern University. Her more than 50-year career as a Human Resources Executive brought her deep fulfillment and professional pride.
Linda lived in Savannah, Georgia; Gainesville, Florida; and most recently Jacksonville, Florida. She had a passion for travel, a special affection for Sheltie dogs, and a love of butterfly gardening (becoming a Master Gardener). Linda also gave generously of her time, volunteering with The Ronald McDonald House.
Linda is survived by her devoted husband of 65 years, Harvey Coleman Hilderbrand; her daughters Dawn Hilderbrand (Charles, deceased) and Sherie Ruf (James); and her grandchildren Alexandra Ruf, Reghan Ruf, and Kellan Ruf. She was preceded in death by her parents.
