It is with deep love and sadness that the family of Linda Lee Scrivener, of Jupiter, Florida, announces her passing. Linda departed this life peacefully on September 30th 2025, surrounded by her family that cherished her.
Born on September 27, 1940 in Hartford, Connecticut, Linda lived a life defined by warmth, generosity, and an unwavering devotion to family and friends. Linda lived many years in Groton Long Point, CT but relocated to Florida later in life and she made Jupiter, FL her final home, where she built lasting relationships and became a beloved presence to those who were amongst her friends.
Linda is remembered for her kindness, her quick smile, and her ability to make everyone she met feel welcome. She loved playing the violin and was an accomplished violinist with the CT Hartford Strings Orchestra for many years, She loved to travel, was known for having a green thumb, attending Broadway shows, dining out, cooking at home to name just a few and she shared those joys freely with those around her.
Fun things (but not widely known) about Linda were that she loved the beach and was an accomplished swimmer. One time while she and her husband Robert were traveling in Egypt someone offered to buy her in exchange for 8 camels! She and Robert often enjoyed hosting parties in their home and her Ambrosia and Potato salads were known far and wide for being totally delicious. When her children were very young she liked to watch the 11:30pm "Creature Feature" horror movies on tv and she would wake her kids up to watch them with her. How cool is that?! She had three boats named after her which were Diamond Girl I, II, and III. She loved animals and raised several bunnies as pets. She was pretty hip in her day and would often bring home 8-track tapes for her and her children to rock out to albums such as Lynyrd Skynyrd's "One More for the Road".
Linda is survived by her husband, the love of her life for 53 years and her best friend Robert Scrivener, her children Andrew Raibeck and his wife Jackie, Eric Raibeck and his wife Jeanne, Melissa Raibeck, Barbara Christian and her husband Todd, Robert Scrivener Jr., grandchildren Emma Raibeck, Tyler Christian and his wife Rebecca and great grandchildren, Emilia Christian and Madison Christian as well as dear friends who will carry her memory in their hearts.
She was preceded in death by her parents Sara R. (Youlovsky) Frankel and Louis T. Frankel and her grandson Garrett Christian.
Linda's life will be quietly celebrated by immediate family who will be sharing memories and honoring the life of a woman who touched so many.
The family requests that donations in Linda’s memory be made to Floppy Ear Rescue & Sanctuary of Port St. Lucie, Florida (https://www.floppyearrescue.org/) or other rabbit shelter.
Linda's life was a gift, and though she will be deeply missed, her legacy of love and compassion will continue to inspire all who knew her. Rest in God's heavenly peace Diamond Girl!
