Linda Joyce White

Linda Joyce White, 77, of Carrollton, Texas, passed away peacefully on October 29th, 2025 from Alzheimer's disease. She was born in Muskegon, Michigan, on November 25, 1947, to Delbert Simpson and Marie Louise Simpson (née Gardner). Not long after her birth, the family moved to Highland Park, Texas, where Linda spent her formative years and began a lifelong love for the Lone Star State.

Linda was a devoted wife, mother, teacher, and friend whose smile could light up any room. She was preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Sue Golden. She is survived by her beloved husband, Randy Watson; her sons, Troy and Todd Thompson; her stepdaughter, Devon; her nieces, Kristy Dixon and Stacy Mackintosh, and countless students whose lives she touched through her years as a dedicated educator.

Teaching was more than a career for Linda—it was a calling. She spent 37 years teaching at Greenhill School, where she had a remarkable gift for making math both understandable and fun, inspiring generations of students with her creativity and compassion. Linda was a permanent fixture at Greenhill, often working every day, starting early and staying late. She was a leader not just in the classroom by adopting the latest educational methods but also by participating in numerous conferences and assessing schools across the country. Her enthusiasm for life extended far beyond the classroom—she loved dancing, horses, and adventure.

Alongside Randy, she was able to actively enjoy her retirement, traveling all across the USA from the Florida Keys to Maine to San Diego to Alaska. Whether ziplining, whitewater rafting, or hiking, she approached every experience with excitement and joy.

A proud alumna of the University of Texas, where she enjoyed leading the Spirit Squad, Linda remained a lifelong Longhorn fan. She vigorously rooted for the Longhorns football team with her family for every game.

Above all, Linda will be remembered for her radiant smile, framed by her two signature dimples, and the light and warmth she shared with everyone she met.

A memorial service to celebrate Linda's life will be held on Saturday, December 6th, 2025, from 1:00 to 2:30 p.m. at Bent Tree Bible Fellowship in Carrollton, Texas.
