Loretta Dorothea Upson

It is with the heaviest of hearts that I must announce the passing of my Mom, Loretta Dorothea Upson, on Nov 7, 2023. Mom was born on July 13, 1941 in Minneapolis, Minnesota to Elmer Henriksen and Dorothea Schmude.
Mom is survived by her three sisters, Jeri, Lynn and Sandy, Gerard Henriksen-son, Sandra Henriksen-daughter in-law,
Mimi Henriksen-granddaughter, Brandon Henriksen-grandson and Mason Henriksen-great grandson. She filled all of our lives with Love and Happiness.
Mom graduated from the University of Wisconsin in 1975. Her degree was in Speech Therapy. When we moved from Wisconsin to California she went in a different direction and became a Contract Administrator. She went to work for Government Defense Contractor's. That required her to get a Top Secret clearance from the Government through the FBI. She traveled the world working on Defense projects. One project that she was proud of was the Black Hawk Helicopter. The work that she did was amazing. She started her career in 1979 and retired in 2000.
When Mom retired she moved to Reno, Nevada. She loved her slot machines. She loved to Crochet and Knit. She taught in several groups. Her projects were beautiful. Reading was a large part of Mom's life. She also enjoyed watching movies with her popcorn and Pepsi.
Mom also had an adventurous side. Some of the activities included White Water Rafting, Water Skiing, Para-sailing, Hit Air Balloon rides and a Glider Flight. She also enjoyed going on vacations. Mom loved to try new foods and see the sights.
You will forever be in our hearts and memories. Thank you for all that you have done for us and all of the good times and Love that was shared. I love you Mom.
