Lorraine Emory Grub passed away peacefully on September 26, 2025. She was born on September 21, 1951, in Florham Park, New Jersey. Lorraine was known for her gentle nature, warm heart, contagious laugh, and devotion to family and faith.
She lived a life rooted in compassion, guided by her strong faith in Jehovah, the foundation she built her life around. Her humility, kindness, and generosity were evident to all those who knew her. She cherished her family and her spiritual community, always ready with a helping hand or a listening ear.
A loving wife, sister and stepmother, Lorraine was also a beloved grandmother, aunt, and friend. Though she had no children of her own, she poured her heart and lively imagination into the lives of the children she was surrounded by throughout her life - organizing scavenger hunts, planning outings, hosting special weekends to make each child feel special, and creating memories filled with joy and laughter. She showered her grandkids, nieces, and nephews with affection, creative activities and playful traditions like “Mema Hugs,” “Mema Tea,” and the “Cooky Kids Club.”
Anyone who knew Lorraine knows of her special love for animals (especially dogs), and her deep appreciation for life’s simple pleasures – which for her meant time spent by the sea, breathing in the salty air, feeling the wind on her face, and savoring a filthy martini.
Lorraine worked for many years at Chubb where she was able to use her creative mind and business skills, and later at a dog fence company and as a dog trainer, where she was able to further her passion for dogs. She was known for her dedication, integrity, and caring nature.
Among the many who will miss her dearly are her loving spouse Eric Grub, children Chandra Elia (husband Tony Elia & children Cambrie & Kaden), Eric (EJ) Grub & children Travis and Zoey, Hillary Oliver (husband Marc Oliver & children Sierra, Elaina, & Isla); her two sisters, Ruth and Irene, her brother, Andrew, and a plethora of nieces, nephews, grand-nieces and grand-nephews.
Her final request was that we gather not in sorrow, but in celebration and to share stories, laughter, and love in her honor. Her warmth, laughter, and generous heart left a lasting mark on all the lives she touched, and those memories that will be cherished forever.
A Celebration of Life service will be held in her honor on Saturday, November 22, 2025, at 3:30pm. at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 840 N. Green Street, Little Egg Harbor Township, NJ 08087. Zoom will be available.
