Lyn Brooks

Lyn Brooks, 82, passed away peacefully on May 3, 2025, in Jacksonville, Florida. Born on February 24, 1943, in Norfolk, Virginia, she lived a full and vibrant life marked by dedication to her family and a love for the simple joys that brought her happiness.

Lyn was the beloved daughter of Roy and Julia LaGrone, both of whom preceded her in death.

She was mother to her daughters Samatha Watson (Michael), Leigh Bond (John), and Chris Stone (Kim). Her love extended deeply into the next generations as well. She was a cherished grandmother to Elizabeth (Michael), Jessie (JR), Caitlyn (Justin), Amanda (Scottie), Christopher (Sara), and Casey. Lyn also delighted in being a great-grandmother to fifteen great-grandchildren.

Lyn had a thoughtful nature and a sharp wicked sense of humor that endeared her to those around her. She was known for being hardworking and dependable—qualities that defined both her personal and professional life. In quieter moments, she found joy in reading avidly, cross stitching with care and creativity, and traveling whenever she could. These hobbies reflected her curious spirit and appreciation for beauty in everyday life.

Her legacy lives on through the many lives she touched with her warmth, wit, and unwavering support. May her memory bring comfort to those who knew and loved her.
