It is with deep sorrow and much love that we announce the passing of Lynn Lorraine (Pomeroy) Karolyi, who departed this life on September 26, 2025, in Daytona Beach, Florida. Lynn was born on January 25, 1933, in New Milford, Connecticut. Her early education began at the Gaylord School and continued at Canton High School, from which she graduated. Lynn's professional journey included roles at Aetna Insurance Company and the Gilbert School, culminating in her retirement from Wheeler Group/Executive Greetings. In addition to her career, Lynn ran her own business, creating and selling beautiful, dried flower arrangements.
Lynn is survived by her children, Darlene and Michael Karolyi; her grandchildren, Joel (Tracey Gorski) Jarvis, Drew (Jasmine) Jarvis, and Mikey Karolyi; her great-granddaughter Madelyn Jarvis; her siblings Gay Johnson-Steiner, Gary Pomeroy, Larry Pomeroy, Wesley Pomeroy and Charles Pomeroy; her nieces and nephews and her long-time companion, Max Fiscus. Lynn's passing leaves a deep void among all who knew and loved her. Her love of life and adventure will be remembered by those she touched and the memories they shared together.
Lynn was predeceased by her mother, Grace Wright-Pomeroy, father Wesley Pomeroy and stepmother Beulah Pomeroy and her younger sister, Elizabeth Ballard.
As a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, and friend, Lynn followed her adventurous spirit across the globe with trips to Europe, Canada, and nearly all 50 states. These journeys were first shared with her children and later with her sister Gay. Lynn took special joy in being a mom and had fond memories as a 4-H and Cub Scouts leader. Her spare time was spent crafting, watching movies, and exploring.
Lynn spent most of her life in Winsted, Connecticut, on Highland Lake, a place she always loved to return to after relocating to Zellwood, Florida, to be close to her many friends and family.
A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, November 1, 2025, at Rolling Hills Community Church in Zellwood, Florida. A second Memorial Service will take place at 12 Noon on Saturday, November 15, 2025, at Merryall Chapel in New Milford, Connecticut. All are welcome to join in honoring Lynn's memory and sharing stories of the impact she had on the lives of others.
